A Wonderful Christmas....onto the New Year !

What a whirl wind the past few months have been. Orders to get out, working my fun part time job , and decorating the house....just never seems to be enough hours in the day to get everything done ! We made it though, some how . Christmas was even more fun this year with my two little precious girls . Their favorite gifts were bright pink shovels ! They had fun scooping up rugs , but then their very special gifts from their Auntie .....well lets just say , I thought they were too young , but they had a blast & we did too watching them ! They both had colds & shared them with us ! My husband and I will be resting as the New Year arrives !

Have a Very Happy , and Healthy New Year !!!!!

Spring Is Finally Here !!!

What a nice weekend we had , it was in the upper 60's and all of our snow has disappeared finally !!!!

A few weeks ago Lori , from Not Forgotten Farm offered a cute pattern to hook , punch, or cross stitch. I hooked a little round chair pad for an old chair I have. I just need to trim it to the correct size & finish the edge with some yarn. I was thinking of doing some reverse hooking, some colors seem to fade away, but I kind of like it that way.

Hope it is warm & sunny for everyone too !!!

A Cold, Snowy Winter and Cabin Fever !

I have been busy since Christmas cleaning the house, going thru drawers and hibernating this winter. The freezing cold weather and lots of snow have kept me inside long enough !

Rug hooking has been fun to pick up again. Last year Sandra, from Woodland Junction had a challenge for a Hit & Miss rug. It was fun sorting thru left over worms and making new ones ! I finally finished it the border & steamed it, now I just need to bind it.

Laurie from The Wooly Red Rug and Lori from Notforgotten Farm have booth hooked a pretty heart chair pad in shades of blue. I have always admired theirs, so drew my own pattern . I have a cute old chair for my Grand daughters to use when they visit, it will be perfect on it ! They will have fun throwing off over and over again.

The Santa Rug pattern I purchased from Maria at Star Rug Company. I used some old wool roving I had for his mustache and beard. I liked leaving some of the neat curls exposed.

I hooked some small hearts just for fun. One of the hearts, the top one is made from wool my Mother brought home from Scotland years ago. It is her family tartan ! It will be finished for her Valentines Day gift.

Keep toasty warm and hopefully you are not baking and eating chocolate chip cookies like me !!!
