I started out really good hooking this and then showed it to friends and they had some great recommendations . So began the reverse hooking .....I probably should have shown you all the before pictures ,,,,,I'm pretty sure I will be doing some more .....I was really trying to keep it as similar to the way Lucille Festa hooked hers. My colors just aren't as nice and old looking .
Trying to hook blotches can be frustrating . I find using a bunch of different plaids makes that so much easier. Then I think the basket is too bright ...I don't want to pull that all out , so maybe walnut crystals sprayed on will do the trick ???? I will wait until it is all hooked to make a decision.
Thanks for visiting !
In your photo I don't see any bright colors. It looks lovely. Hey, I too would like to make my rugs like Lucille Festa or Barb Carroll hooked them. But I can't although I try. Looks great just like it is.
ReplyDeleteThank you Saundra !
DeleteI think it looks great.

Thank you Cathy !
DeleteIt's looking wonderful to my eyes. But, yes, walnut spray can work wonders for the "gee-I-should-have"s should you still be thinking you'd like it darker when you're done with hooking. DON'T you dare reverse hook it at this point!!
ReplyDeleteI will try not to do any more reverse hooking ! Thank you Robin !
DeleteI like the basket just is. Looks good all around to me. Janice
ReplyDeleteJanice , Thank you !
DeleteOh, Nancy. It looks terrific. And yes, I too find hooking blotchy difficult!
ReplyDeleteI really like your rug. I will be having Lucille in a class and was thinking about making this rug. In the pictures of both her rug and your rug they look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the really nice compliment. I am almost done hooking this and will post it when I pull the last loop. I haven't taken a class from Lucille , she was at a really nice hook in , in Woodstock , CT . Her patterns are beautiful and so is her wool .
