We survived another Nor Easter !

The Big Winter storm Monday left us with another 10 inches of snow with wind whipping all day long . We were lucky , friends of ours ended up with a lot more snow and lost power for a few hours . We have all had it with Winter . Today I put all my Snowmen away and Christmas greenery . It's time for some warmer weather !!!

I finally finished hooking this rug . The border really threw me . I tried several different colors for the back ground , Then friends said just mix all those worms up & hook away ! That did the trick !

The colors look so washed out . I wish the phones cameras took better pictures.  This pattern is called Twin Baskets by Woolen Memories . I have to visit Sandy , so she can see it .

I was in an antique shop a few weeks ago and bought these 2 small drawers. I hooked a house for each of them . They were really fun and now I need to find more drawers !!! The drawers are 9 " tall , 5 &1/2" wide by 2 & 1/4' deep .

Now I have to figure out what to hook next !!!  Hope others who were in the path of this Nor Easter are all safe and sound ! Think Spring !!!

  1. Glad you made it through the storm. We weren't in the path of it but we did get about 4-1/2" on Thursday...and another couple of inches today...and WIND. I so dislike wind. Your rug turned out wonderful! I love the background! And the little drawer houses are darling. I know Lauren has a drawer that she has hooked various designs for and I always wanted to copy hers. Hasn't happened yet. ;-)

  2. Great job on the floral! And do like those houses in drawers. Which reminded me that I had an idea for your hubby. Several years ago when my grandfather's house was destroyed due to age, I had a local craftsman who made boxes, etc. to do a wood image of his house which I gave to all my family for Christmas one year. Remember those shelf houses that were popular at one time?

    1. Oh that is funny , before we got into making our folk art things over 40 years ago ...I made individual houses too and painted them as little shops . What a great idea to use the wood from your grandfather's house to make an image of it !

Not sure you will find anything on my blog with the drawer, but I change the little mat out for all the holidays.
