Hooking Projects during the Big Snow Storm and Frigid Weather

Last weekend we got 19 inches of snow !!! It looks very pretty , but it is also frigid here in western Massachusetts .  I usually try to get out every morning for a nice long walk , but since November it has not been nice enough . A few snow storms with sleet and freezing rain  takes so long to melt with the cold we have been having . Now with this big layer of snow on the ground , I may not see my nice walking path until Spring ! 

Thank goodness I have my rug hooking to keep me busy and happy ! Lauren from Rugs and Pugs recently hooked this pretty pattern of Barb Carrol's . I have her book and drew this on linen to hook ..my grand daughters will say , " Grammie you hooked more Hearts !!!"  Yup !!! I have always loved this pattern and it was fun to hook ! 



A week ago I went out to see Sandy at Woolen Memories with a few friends .  We always enjoy visiting Sandy . We love seeing all her pretty new wools and look thru all her patterns . I had to purchase this pattern  and have been hooking this everyday since last weekend's snow storm . When it is finished Sandy asked me to bring it back for her to see .  This was a pattern she did years ago . 



Sandy had two really cute small patterns on display , but did not have those drawn up yet . It calls for another trip when I finish this !!!

    You and Lauren have like minds. Cool floral pattern as you will see a design coming and going. Yes, might COLD here too. And another weekend storm brewing.

    Your heart mat is so sweet! I finally finished mine today. I am not a speed hooker like you are 🤷‍♀️
    LOVE the soft colors of your new rug.
    I would be in BIG trouble if I lived near Sandy’s shop. She has so many wonderful patterns and wool to die (dye 🤣) for.

    Nice Nancy, hearts are my favorite. I just bought a new pattern from Sandy, 3 baskets runner and I plan to make 3 small rugs instead...stay warm and busy!

    Love both of your projects Nancy. I think I commented on Lauren's post about your Barb Carrol's heart rug that I had toyed with the idea of doing that one for years now. Likely won't ever happen at this point. I haven't managed to get a hook or a needle in my hand in over a month...and it was only briefly even before then. Not keeping up with things whatsoever so that means no fun and games either. That's a lot of snow...even by our standards. Our brutal cold spell has finally snapped and we've moved above 0 even for lows so I'm glad for that. Stay safe and warm...and hooky!
