Sorry for not updating anything for months .......

 I really haven't done a lot of hooking this summer.  I started this design last month ....a friend is dying wool for the border . I wanted dirty browns to hook with. She just gave it to me and I am ready to hook again ! 

I think Lauren , Rugs & Pugs hooked this same pattern years ago.  I bought this pattern from Heavens To Betsy when she retired. 

Summer is flying by way too fast. We have had a lot of rain and now high humidity . We were able to go visit friends in Maine for a wonderful weekend. Will go back in the fall for several days.

Here is the Special Hooking project I have been working on !!!!

 I have been having a great time hooking this new pattern from Woolen Memories.  It is called "Country Shops" . Sandy and I have been hooking this for the past 3 weeks and sending each other our progress after each day . We are using totally different colors and has been fun to see how different they look .

Yesterday I went to see Sandy with my rug that is all finished being hooked and to see hers ! We both still need to bind our rugs. We really enjoyed seeing them in person and admiring each others work . Sandy had added little details to her shops that was so cute ! The bakery has little cakes in each window and the Flower Shop had flowers in the windows ! Such tiny detail !!! I learned so much from Sandy , it was a great experience !

A Little Sneak Peak !!!!

 I have been hooking a New pattern of Sandy Miarecki's , Woolen Memories . We are both hooking it at the same time . It is just So Cute !!! It is called Country Shops and has been really fun sharing our progress to each other .

Mr Blues Eyes is all hooked !!!

 Yesterday I pulled the last loop for Mr Blue Eyes and sewed on his blue button eye . He even has a wooly tail !!! He has been pressed and now needs to be bound . He was so much fun to hook !!!!! 

And wait til you see what will be on my frame next !!!!! It will be a surprise !!!! 

A really cute design by Cammie Bruce !!!!

 Hello again !!! I am on a roll here ! I received this super cute pattern by Cammie , whose business name is Baskets Of Wool .  My grand children will all be here to celebrate one of their Birthdays this weekend .  I want to get this done before they come . My daughter is a dietician and I know she will get a kick out of this . 

This is called Mr Blue Eyes  !!!! 

My mother and grand mother saved a lot of buttons . I found this neat little button that would make a perfect eye !!! I will use bright blue thread to attach it . The sky will be a really neat green that looks like a faded Army blanket .  I can't stop hooking !!!

 We have had beautiful weather for the past 3 days . Now we go back to more normal temperatures . We have had a lot of our snow melt away finally . I hope to be able to get back to walking on our nice bike path .

Still feeling like Winter here ....cold & dreary

 Last weekend I went to see Sandy at Woolen Memories.  I wanted to show her the rug I had finished hooking and needed another pattern of hers to work on next. My previous post shows her pattern "Twin Baskets" , she is offering this pattern again !!!

 Sandy had just drawn up this sweet pattern and I had to get it ! It is called "Little Basket Runner. " 

I worked on it all week long . And as of today this is how much I have hooked ......Lauren wondered if I have been working on this  !

 I didn't have any plans this week , so have been hooking my heart out !!! The lines I drew in for all the stripes is going the wrong direction , so need to remember that when i start on that section tomorrow .  

Sandy is busy drawing patterns for our 250th  celebration of America . I got this cute chair pad to hook .  Tomorrow is actually suppose to be a Beautiful ,sunny day and could be in the upper 60's !!!! I can finally get outside for a nice long walk !!! May not get much hooking done ! 

We survived another Nor Easter !

 The Big Winter storm Monday left us with another 10 inches of snow with wind whipping all day long . We were lucky , friends of ours ended up with a lot more snow and lost power for a few hours . We have all had it with Winter . Today I put all my Snowmen away and Christmas greenery . It's time for some warmer weather !!! 

I finally finished hooking this rug . The border really threw me . I tried several different colors for the back ground , Then friends said just mix all those worms up & hook away ! That did the trick ! 

The colors look so washed out . I wish the phones cameras took better pictures.  This pattern is called Twin Baskets by Woolen Memories . I have to visit Sandy , so she can see it . 

I was in an antique shop a few weeks ago and bought these 2 small drawers. I hooked a house for each of them . They were really fun and now I need to find more drawers !!! The drawers are 9 " tall , 5 &1/2" wide by 2 & 1/4' deep . 

Now I have to figure out what to hook next !!!  Hope others who were in the path of this Nor Easter are all safe and sound ! Think Spring !!!

Hooking Projects during the Big Snow Storm and Frigid Weather

Last weekend we got 19 inches of snow !!! It looks very pretty , but it is also frigid here in western Massachusetts .  I usually try to get out every morning for a nice long walk , but since November it has not been nice enough . A few snow storms with sleet and freezing rain  takes so long to melt with the cold we have been having . Now with this big layer of snow on the ground , I may not see my nice walking path until Spring ! 

Thank goodness I have my rug hooking to keep me busy and happy ! Lauren from Rugs and Pugs recently hooked this pretty pattern of Barb Carrol's . I have her book and drew this on linen to hook ..my grand daughters will say , " Grammie you hooked more Hearts !!!"  Yup !!! I have always loved this pattern and it was fun to hook ! 

A week ago I went out to see Sandy at Woolen Memories with a few friends .  We always enjoy visiting Sandy . We love seeing all her pretty new wools and look thru all her patterns . I had to purchase this pattern  and have been hooking this everyday since last weekend's snow storm . When it is finished Sandy asked me to bring it back for her to see .  This was a pattern she did years ago . 

Sandy had two really cute small patterns on display , but did not have those drawn up yet . It calls for another trip when I finish this !!!

With this freezing cold weather we have been having , might as well keep hooking Snowmen !!!

We are All set up for the Old Deerfield Holiday Craft Fair !!!!

 This is our booth .....I didn't turn any of the lights on the houses today . Tomorrow morning it will be bright & merry !!! There is another red curtain that was set up along the right side of the booth after this picture. We look forward to seeing our other crafting friends and shoppers that return year after year . 

This weekend is The Deerfield Holiday Sampler Craft Fair !

 We are looking forward to seeing friends at the show this weekend ! It is Saturday and Sunday ! There is even a nice article about the show in the Springfield Republican News Paper . We were interviewed for it and was excited to see it . 

Here is one of the Brand New designs my husband has for the show ! These are small houses ...they are about 3 and 1/2 inches tall by about 3 inches wide . They are battery operated . The little lights are underneath the snow . A tiny Snowman and small pine trees surround the houses . They are fun to decorate with . 

 

My Challenge project of Woodland Junction by Saundra Porter is complete !!!

 I finished hooking Saundra's fun antique design and now it is perfect on a bench my husband makes ! I just Love it !!!!

Woodland Junction's Challenge Project !!!

 Well with this Nor Eater we have been dealing with yesterday and today, it has been perfect  to stay inside and hook away !!! It has been cloudy and very windy . We got a lot rain last night , but today the winds have been whipping !  I Finished hooking Saundra's design . It is steamed and waiting to be backed to sit on top of a bench my husband makes. This is a small piece , so hooked up pretty fast . It is 23 & 1/4" long by 11&1'4" tall. 

It was really fun to hook. I can't wait to see how other friends are hooking it too ! Great idea Saundra and Lauren !!! Thank you !!!!

A Very Fun Day Yesterday !!!

 I met a fellow Blogger yesterday ! I have been following Rugs  And Pugs Blog for years . Lauren does beautiful rug hooking and makes wonderful things she sells at a few Hook Ins . She contacted me a few days ago . She was coming to Western  Massachusetts for a few days and wondered if we could meet . I told her I would Love to meet her and take her to see Woolen Memories rug hooking shop and meet Sandy Miarecki . We had such a good time at Sandy's wonderful shop. We looked at all her great patterns , and checked out all her beautiful wools . We spent two hours there chatting away . It was such a good time .

It was just fun sharing stories about hooking and people we know . 

The last picture is a challenge design by Saundra Porter who also has a blog I have followed as long as Lauren's .   Saundra Porter's Blog is called Woodland Junction. We always leave comments on each other posts. She chose this nice antique pattern for any of her followers to hook and send pictures of our progress. I hope to start this design soon and put in on a bench that my husband makes . I better get busy !!!

 I have really enjoyed hooking this pattern ....I did make a few changes though .  The first picture shows the colors I originally used . Then I decided to make the outlines of the houses a darker mustard color. I didn't like how bright the basket of the flowers looked , so used a bit of walnut stain to tone that down . My next change was the rug under the basket ....I made it look like a braided rug . I put the rug aside for a week and think I am happy with the changes . Will steam it again and get it ready to bind ! I am kind of sad to have it finished . It was fun to hook .

Have been busy hooking away and here is my progress...

 I started out really good hooking this and then showed it to friends and they had some great recommendations . So began the reverse hooking .....I probably should have shown you all the before pictures ,,,,,I'm pretty sure I will be doing some more .....I was really trying to keep it as similar to the way Lucille Festa hooked hers. My colors just aren't as nice and old looking . 

Trying to hook blotches can be frustrating . I find using a bunch of different plaids makes that so much easier. Then I think the basket is too bright ...I don't want to pull that all out , so maybe walnut crystals sprayed on will do the trick ???? I will wait until it is all hooked  to make a decision.

I am tired of the Heat Wave ...I have been pulling a lot of loops !!!

 I am so ready for this Heat Wave to come to an end . Tomorrow should be a big change ...cooler , no humidity and chance of showers. I hope to get out for a nice walk in the morning again. 

Here is what I have accomplished on Lucille Festa's rug , Ossining..... I am using lots of old worms , and trying to use the same colors as Lucille used. 

           

I also hooked this Scrappy Cmas Tree . It was fun to do and have two more started. 

I look forward to cleaning the house and opening all the windows to air out the house ! I actually need a day off from pulling loops ! LOL 

How I will be spending my days during the Heat Wave

 I purchased this wonderful pattern from Lucille Festa when I was at The Quiet Corner Hook In a few weeks ago .  It is called "Ossining" , it is where she grew up . Lucille's colors are just gorgeous . I started this last week .  It is already 93 degrees here today and will remain Hot, Humid until Wednesday . I will stay in the air conditioning hooking away ! 

Hope my friends who hook have fun projects to keep busy thru this heat wave !
